Planning Consultations

​Our approach begins with an initial consultation, giving us the chance to acquaint ourselves and gain an understanding of your objectives and goals. We’ll talk about the planning and process involved in preparing for and applying to college.  You’ll leave with knowledge that will provide a framework for moving forward.  From there, you decide the next step based on what suits you best.

Hourly Packages

Recognizing the diverse needs and goals of families, we provide hourly packages crafted to introduce flexibility into the planning process. These hours can be utilized to customize the process according to your specific timing and requirements. Irrespective of the focus areas, Legacy College Consulting is committed to delivering valuable insights and actionable steps that will guide you toward achieving success.

Comprehensive Planning

Legacy College Consulting offers an all-encompassing Comprehensive Planning Package designed to guide students seamlessly through the intricate college admissions process. This comprehensive package is a holistic approach that covers various aspects crucial for successful college applications including class and extracurricular analysis, career assessment, testing strategies, college visit planning, college list building, essay writing and review of final college applications.

 

The comprehensive planning package is a strategic and personalized roadmap for students aspiring to find their right fit colleges and navigate the college admissions journey successfully.

Early Planning Consultation

(summer before high school, 9th grade)

  • Exploration of building a high school portfolio for college applications

  • Review of academic record and determination of high school academic goals

  • Assistance with high school class selection 

  • Exploration of engagement outside the classroom

  • Discussion of meaningful summers, resources provided

  • Suggestions for successful campus/college visits

  • Suggestions for having a successful high school experience

  • Recommendations for ACT/SAT Test Preparation

  • Guaranteed placement in the Junior/ rising Senior Comprehensive Planning Package if desired

Initial Consultation

((90 minutes, required for all who have not participated in the Early Planning Consultation)

An informative “get to know you opportunity” for prospective students and families.  A thorough evaluation of student’s accomplishments and goals with an explanation of the college preparation and application process.  Take away resources to help with all aspects of preparing for and applying to college. 

Options after Initial Consultation, if you decide you'd like additional help*:

☐ 6x 1-hour meeting package

☐ 8x 1-hour meeting package

☐ 10x 1-hour meeting package

*All hourly packages include prep time, follow up emails with detailed action items, application outline/timeline, templates, emails, phone calls and texts.  Packages do not include any essay work.

**each hourly package is individualized to accommodate the student's needs based on initial consultation and desires of student/family; examples include but are not limited to college list research and development based on qualifications, student key criteria discovery, resume/activities list creation, oversight for common application creation, review and submission, evaluation of acceptances.

Comprehensive Planning Package

(Junior or rising Seniors)

  • Academic schedule:  review and recommendations

  • Engagement outside the classroom:  Review and recommendations

  • Testing:  Recommendations/Timeline for test preparation, test-taking

  • Assessment:  Career, personality, work approach, majors

  • Assessment:  College Criteria/Preferences/Ideal Experience

  • Campus visits:  suggestions for planning and successful visits, review of visit

  • Preparation of selected list of colleges that are a “right fit”

  • Assistance with narrowing college list to 9-12 schools based on balance

  • Resume/Activities List: assistance with creation, final edits

  • Recommendations:  assistance with choosing, asking, and developing a packet

  • Application organizational timeline for final college list, assistance with Common Application

  • Personal Essay Workshop 

  • Review final college applications (up to 10)

  • Assistance with final decision, evaluating offers

   *  Supplemental Essays will be an additional fee
